Feed the Robot With An .INI File
First, write a list of your tasks. We have chosen the .INI file format for this task because it is much easier for people to read than other formats such as JSON or XML.
Note that the Robot uses the normal HeyWatch APIs, so you can call all the same methods. It works like a powerful Meta API, gathering all of our APIs: Video Encoding API, HTTP Live Streaming API and Video Preview API.
Indentation Means Organization
You expect an API to be flexible in the execution of your tasks. That means that some tasks have to happen before, at the same time as, or after another task. So you need to organize them.
To instruct the Robot to execute a task at the right time, we have come up with something very handy: indentation.
It feels natural and is easily understandable for anyone, not just developers.
Fast Integration and Updates
The Robot API allows anyone to integrate HeyWatch in minutes. Writing a list of instructions is simple with the .INI file format.
And for an even easier and faster integration, have a look at our powerful Code Generator and multiple libraries.
It is also easy to add new instructions: just edit the .INI file, adding your new tasks to it without touching your existing code. That's it!
